Product Description
The fruits of asian pears resemble apples more than their European counterparts, and have a milder flavour and a crisp texture. They store very well, and will last most of a winter in good condition in a root cellar. Asian pears are self-infertile, and need another Asian or European pear variety nearby. Ours are on OHxF-97 full-sized rootstock.
Chojuro – A popular heritage variety, prized for its crisp, very sweet flesh. Keeps all winter in cold storage.
Mishirasu – Another Japanese variety that produces mild-flavoured, extra-large pears that store very well.
Ping-Guo-Li – Produces fruit with very sweet flesh and nice, crunchy texture. Resistant to scab and mildew.
