Product Description
Allium senescens: 8″ high x 8″ wide / full sun to light shade / zone 4
Native to Eastern Russia, China and Korea, this is a commonly wild-foraged green onion, used both raw and cooked. In Siberia the bulbs and young leaves are dried and fermented for winter consumption. They prefer a sunny position and are easy to grow, as long as the soil is well-drained. They’ll self-seed a little if they have access to bare soil, but not annoyingly so. We frequently have them with eggs.
