Foeniculum vulgare: 5’ high x 18” wide / full sun to light shade / zone 5
Similar in every way to Sweet Fennel, save for the colour of the leaves, which add a nice splash of rusty purple to a back border. Makes a lovely garnish, but can also be used as a bulk salad ingredient – it’s delicious and easy to care for. Cut off the flowers if you don’t want it spreading by seed.
