We thought this would be a good root vegetable when we first got it, but it turns out it’s the Western form of this plant, Potentilla anserina ‘pacifica,’ that has slim, edible tubers . Still, it makes an excellent, low ground cover. It spreads quite quickly to fill in large areas.
