This cooking fruit was once much more popular and was a standard homesteading producer. The fruit resembles a pear, but needs to be cooked to be enjoyed. They’re incredibly aromatic, and prized in savoury dishes, baking and preserves. Applesauce made with some quince is to die for.
Cook’s Jumbo – Bears large, intensely flavoured, tart fruit, ideal for baking, sauce, jellies & preserves. Self-fertile.
