This tall, perennial relative of the biennial bulb fennel has sweet, delicious anise-flavoured leaves that make a fine addition to salads. The feathery foliage can be used in bulk quantities. The seeds can also be eaten (the flavour is very strong!) and they make a great herbal tea. Pollinators love the flowers, too.
