Product Description
Oxyria digyna: 16″ high x 8″ wide / full sun to half shade / zone 2
This hardy perennial is native to the circumpolar regions of the northern hemisphere, and was traditionally foraged by the Inuit; it helped prevent scurvy, as the leaves are high in vitamin C. The leaves make an excellent trailside nibble, and lend a lemony tartness to salads. They can also be fermented into a tart sauerkraut. The plants need a well-drained soil, but are otherwise unfussy and easy to grow.
