Product Description

Prunus avium:  15’ high x 15’ wide / full sun to 3/4 shade / zone 5 / Rootstock: Mazzard Full Size

Sweet cherries are a bit less hardy than sour cherries but still worth trying in zone 5.  Ours are on Mazzard Full Size rootstock

Hedelfingen – A popular variety to grow in Ontario, this tree starts bearing early and produces large crops of delicious, juicy red fruit.  Self-infertile; requires another sweet cherry variety nearby.

Tehranivee – A cross between Van and Stella, producing dark red, sweet cherries in abundance.  Self-fertile (though it will produce more fruit with another variety nearby)

Vandalay – This is another cross between Van and Stella, produced in Ontario, which bears heavy crops of dark red fruit.  Self-fertile (though it will also bear more if near another variety).
