Prunus avium: 35’ high x 35’ wide / full sun to 3/4 shade / zone 5
Sweet cherries are a bit less hardy than sour cherries but still worth trying in zone 5. Both of the varieties we’re offering this season are self-fertile.
Lapins – (full-sized rootstock): Very similar to Bing, these trees bear deep purple fruits that are great for eating fresh or for using in pies or preserves.
Stella – (semi-dwarf rootstock): Produces large, dark red cherries with firm flesh with excellent flavour. Excellent pollinator for other sweet cherries.
