Product Description

This is a species of walnut from Japan that produces beautiful heart-shaped nuts.   The trees themselves are stately in form and make attractive additions to any landscape.  Two are required for cross-pollination.  The nuts taste much like English walnuts but the nutmeats generally come out whole from the shell, making them easier to extract.  These trees have done very well on our heavy clay soil.  They take between 10 and 15 years to start producing, but they’ll produce for generations thereafter.  We grow ours from seeds selected from improved cultivars.
